2) Provided Kawhi returns, do you expect Toronto to make any significant moves before next season?

Mike Bossetti:

I think if there is one weakness this Raptors team has, it’s their lack of high-end talent at the top of the roster. With Marc Gasol and Kyle Lowry each getting a year older, that high-end talent drops off even more.

I believe Toronto should be on the lookout for an all-star quality player, even if it means sacrificing their depth. They should be making calls about Bradley Beal, Jrue Holiday, etc, although ultimately, it’s unlikely anything gets done.

Thomas Valentine:

I think teams can always get better, but I’m not sure if there’s actually a move that makes sense right now. Or at least a big splash of sorts.

The Raptors problems were more depth based this year, so expect them to bolster their ranks but not much more than that. This team is good enough to run it back, provided they have replacement level talent.

William Ricks:

I don’t see Toronto making any significant moves before next season if Kawhi comes back. Their focus will be developing the players they already have, as Siakam can improve his game, along with OG Anunoby and others.

The Raptors roster is talented enough and deep enough where all they need to do is work on improving the players they have. If they can do that, this team can be even more dangerous when the next season rolls around.

Jordan Skuse

Assuming Kawhi stays, don’t expect Toronto to bring in much help from the outside, but instead, expect Masai Ujiri and Bobby Webster to bring back the same cast that won it this year. However, that doesn’t mean they won’t be making any moves.

Pascal Siakam is eligible for an extension to his rookie-scale contract this summer. With Leonard signed for X amount of years, Siakam figures to be the future of the Raptors, so securing No. 43 to a long-term deal is a must for Masai and Co.
