Fans of the Toronto Raptors have seen many lesser-known players torch their team over the years. As part of our villain week, we remember five of the most lethal “Raptor killers.”

Before we go any further, I must warn you, the reader, that this list will not include names like LeBron James, Allen Iverson, or Paul Pierce. Those all-time “villains” are too evil for this list, meaning they torch(ed) teams on the regular, not just the Toronto Raptors.

These killers are not superstars, but rather they are pedestrian-level players, all of whom had a penchant for abusing Toronto whenever they were granted an opportunity to do so. These players weren’t guys you would expect to fear, but Raptors fans always did. These are the players who made my skin crawl just typing them.

All players on this list are also….just that…players. No coaches made it, but a giant shoutout to Dwane Casey who made it difficult to omit bench bosses entirely.

In his first year as head coach of the Detroit Pistons, Casey guided the Eastern Conference’s seven seed to three wins over the champs. That deserves “certified killer status”, an impressive accomplishment for DC considering he’s only been away from the club for one year.

Keep in mind, A LOT of players have turned in outlier performances against the Raptors over the years, and narrowing the field down to five was tough. Feel free to add to the list by posting in the comments section.

Without further delay, let’s dig into our first “killer”: Doug McDermott.
