Bench Grades

McCaw played just under 20 minutes against the Nets, finishing with 3 points, 2 rebounds, and 3 assists. He hit his lone 3-point attempt and his playmaking boost was big on a night that the Raptors were without Lowry. On defense however, he was one of the primary players getting lit up by Caris LeVert (37 points). McCaw kept the ball moving on offense though he wasn’t very aggressive. Nurse continues to trust McCaw but Davis is slowly carving into his role more and more, and Saturday was another example of why.. Shooting Guard. Toronto Raptors. PATRICK MCCAW. C-

A+. Matt Thomas was brought to Toronto to turn the tide of games with his ability to shoot from the perimeter and oh boy is he doing that. On Saturday night Thomas scored 15 points including a cool 75-percent shooting from the 3-point line. Thomas was solid on defense, staying active whether the Raps were in man or zone defense. He racked up 3 steals in the win and played as well as you can ask him on both ends of the floor. Nights like Saturday bode well for Thomas’ future in Toronto.. Shooting Guard. Toronto Raptors. MATT THOMAS

Toronto Raptors. RONDAE HOLLIS-JEFFERSON. B+. Rondae Hollis-Jefferson continues to be a solid all-around player best used in spurts and he helped in a big way on Saturday. He played the second-most minutes on the team (7:22) in the second quarter when Toronto outscored Brooklyn 33-18. He finished the night with 5 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 assists.. Power Forward

B-. Boucher was very active on both sides of the ball on Saturday night. He finished the night with 9 points and 5 rebounds but his defense left a bit to be desired. He racked up an impressive 3 blocks but also 5 personal fouls—including one foul that lead to a four-point play for Brooklyn—in his 16-minute stint. Boucher was 0-for-2 from 3-point range on Saturday and though he hasn’t found his stroke from deep, it was nice to see him challenge defenders in the paint and get the charity stripe five times.. Power Forward. Toronto Raptors. CHRIS BOUCHER
