The Toronto Raptors have a handful of players up for contracts at the end of this season, including two of their big men Serge Ibaka and Marc Gasol.

With the Toronto Raptors having both of their big men in Ibaka and Gasol up for contracts at the end of this season, could they potentially look for a big man through free agency if they don’t go ahead and re-sign at least one of the two?

If they bring back at least one of Ibaka or Gasol, I think it’ll more than likely be Ibaka because of their age.

Although if they decide to move on from both of the veterans, here are three potential centers the Toronto Raptors could sign through free agency.

3.  Hassan Whiteside – 30 years old – C

2019-20 stats – 61 GP – 16.3 PPG – 14.2 RPG – 1.2 APG – .618 FG% – .571 3P% – .680 FT%

At my number three spot on this list, I have a player Raptor fans are familiar with from the Heat vs Raptor series in the playoffs years prior, Hassan Whiteside.

Now Hassan is currently 30 years old and will be 31 by the start of the 2020-21 season and that may be a factor with the Toronto Raptors in signing a player like him. Although Serge Ibaka is also 30 years old and will be 31 by the start of the new season, but the Raptors are familiar with Ibaka’s play since he’s been there for some time now and he also said himself he wants to stay in Toronto.

Why I have Whiteside on my list is simply because of his point-scoring ability as well importantly as his rebounding ability on the floor. He is one of the best rebounders in the league and for a Toronto Raptors team if they lose both of their big men then having a guy like Whiteside replace them would be a good thing.
