2. Kyle Lowry Gets Traded

2019-20 stats – 58 GP – 19.4 PPG – 5.0 RPG – 7.5 APG – .416 FG% – .352 3P% – .857 FT%

Career stats – 914 GP – 14.7 PPG – 4.3 RPG – 6.2 APG – .423 FG% – .366 3P% – .809 FT%

At my number two spot on this list, I have something that is a much bolder prediction compared to Pascal Siakam taking another huge step in his development, I have Kyle Lowry getting traded by the Toronto Raptors during the season next year. Now it’s called a bold prediction for a reason so don’t go assuming he’s going to be getting traded or that I think he should be traded by the Raptors, I just think it could be a very unlikely possibility but still could potentially happen, therefore it is my second bold prediction.

Lowry getting traded away from the Toronto Raptors during the season, especially in his last season as a Raptor technically unless he re-signs again in the 2021 off-season, would be something that would break a lot of peoples hearts, including mine.

What Lowry has done for this team ever since arriving in Toronto way back when, and what he means to the team and the city is more than basketball, that’s why I find it very hard and very unlikely he would get traded. However, at the end of the day, it is a business still and there is always a possibility he could get traded if the right trade comes across for the Raptors.

The only reason why I could see why the Toronto Raptors going ahead and trading the heart and soul of this team and arguably the greatest Toronto Raptor of all-time is simply because of cap space and that Lowry isn’t getting any younger.

If somehow he wants to return for the 2021-22 season and is willing to take a massive pay cut compared to what he has signed for in his last two deals then I can’t see them trading him away, especially when I have a feeling both sides want him to retire as a Raptor and I think he should as well. (Stats from Basketball-Reference.com)
