Davis is a very interesting player because when he made his NBA debut last season, it looked like there was a lot of potential for this man. While he is just in his second year, he just looks completely lost when he’s out there sometimes.

We’ve heard it from Nurse before that his defence needs a lot more work, and it’s true. He could still provide a little more offence to this Raptors bench unit. He currently averages just under 15 minutes a night, which is basically two whole minutes less of what he averaged last season, and he’s averaging fewer points, rebounds, and assists per game from his rookie season.

His shooting splits are fine, but the only thing he could do more of is to become a better scorer and help contribute to the other aspects of the game of basketball. This season he is currently only averaging 7.1 points per game, 1.9 rebounds per game, and 1.1 assists per game, which is all down from the year prior.

Will Terence Davis solidify the Raptors’ bench?

He’s only averaging six shot attempts per game and half of them are from beyond the arc. If Davis is going to continue to be looked at as one of the options off the bench on a nightly basis, he’s going to have to score more and try and help out in other ways in the game.

The bench unit that we consistently see right now on a nightly basis is basically Chris Boucher, D’Andre Bembry, Davis, and Aron Baynes. Out of these four players, Boucher is the best scorer so far this season, and that’s got to change.

The Raptors need more contribution from everyone on the bench because Powell has been starting of late. If Nurse continues with the small ball lineup, then we could potentially see Powell as a full-time starter for the remainder of the season, and if that’s the case, the bench unit just took a huge hit in production.
