Who is the best fit for the Toronto Raptors?

Both of these players are worth a long look from the Raptors organization. The University of Texas basketball program has developed some pretty good NBA quality big men in recent years like Jarrett Allen, Myles Turner, and Tristan Thompson.

Jones appears to have a higher ceiling, and mock drafts reflect that as they are linking the Raptors to Kai Jones at 10th overall in the 2021 draft while Greg Brown is slated to go 21st.

At the moment, it would appear that Jones actually needs more refinement and seasoning than Brown, but teams do get seduced by the potential vs. the reality, and the Raptors do great work refining talent.

Both Greg Brown and Kai Jones could be picked in the first round by the Raptors

Either player is worth the selection. It will depend on where the Raptors finish out the season. If they are in the lottery and move up in the draw, then a better talent may be targeted, but if they are selecting in the high teens at the 2021 draft, Kai Jones is a solid pick.

Should the Raptors find themselves with the option of selecting between 10-15, Greg Brown should be their 2021 selection if he’s available. The Raptors will once again have to answer age-old question of finished product vs upside, and a lot is riding on it.
