Positive No. 2: Sexton played well without talent around him.

In addition to the constant coaching turnover, he ended up playing last season for a defensive-minded coach in Bickerstaff that wanted to slow things down. The Cavaliers were 25th in pace and dead last in points per game at 103.8 per night. Sexton thriving in that offense is a minor miracle.

Outside of Garland, he didn’t have anyone that defenses were really going to key in on. Jarrett Allen is a monster on defense, but his value shrinks outside of the paint. Issac Okoro went through a very tough rookie season, and Cedi Osman doesn’t exactly scream “featured perimeter option.

Collin Sexton would get more open shots on the Raptors.

While the Raptors would have to send some key offensive contributors to Cleveland to get this deal done, Sexton alongside Fred VanVleet, Pascal Siakam, and Chris Boucher in an offense that emphasizes pace and space should make for a lethal combination that will keep opponents up at night.

The Cavaliers have essentially asked Sexton and Garland to make magic happen with approximately one and a half good offensive players beside them in the lineup. Even though he might have less iso time in Toronto, the talent around him could help his scoring increase.
