3. Golden State is chasing Pascal Siakam.

NBC Sports believes that even though Siakam, who could be a potential trade target for a Warriors team looking to get back to the postseason, will miss a large chunk of time due to injury, that could make it easier for Golden State to acquire him.

Siakam might still be damaged goods, but he is one of the best offensive bigs in the game and he plays on a Toronto team without a ton of quality backups in that regard. While names like Andrew Wiggins could come up in trade talks, the Raptors should hang up the second Siakam’s name is brought up.

The Toronto Raptors can’t trade Pascal Siakam.

The ONLY way this trade should even be entertained without the front office passing out from laughter is if both Wiggins and James Wiseman are included in the deal. Considering how it would be almost impossible to convince Golden State to part with so much, this trade would be impractical for Toronto.

Having doubts about Siakam’s validity as a No. 1 scoring option and his durability in the wake of such a major operation are by no means ridiculous, but trading him for the first offer that catches your eye isn’t going to help matters much either. Keeping Siakam is a much better option than a hypothetical deal with the Warriors.
