1. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Oklahoma City Thunder

This may be a bit unrealistic, as Gilgeous-Alexander appears to be the cornerstone that Oklahoma City wants to build around. However, given the frequency with which Sam Presti trades away players, there is still a chance that SGA could be on the move at some point this offseason.

Shai is already an elite scorer, averaging 23.7 points per game at age 22. Critics that claim his production is inflated by virtue of playing on a bad Thunder team are overlooking the fact he can play both guard spots, finish at the rim, and shoot from deep. This won’t be the first time in his career he hits those scoring averages.

Is there a shot Shai Gilgeous-Alexander comes to the Raptors?

ESPN mentioned that the Raptors could surrender the No. 4 overall pick in order to acquire Gilgeous-Alexander as a potential successor to Kyle Lowry. As risky as that deal sounds, turning SGA, a Canadian himself, into Toronto’s backbone for the next few seasons could help Toronto return to the playoffs.

Let’s assume that Presti decides that SGA doesn’t fit his timeline. That could open up a flurry of trades with the intent of getting Gilegous-Alexander away from Presti’s ever-anxious hands. It would be risky to add him given his impending new contract, but he is a star in the making if he isn’t already one.
