1. Jalen Suggs, Gonzaga

Suggs is the prohibitive favorite to end up as the Raptors’ selection in the draft, as Cade Cunningham, Jalen Green, and Evan Mobley will likely be off of the board by the time No. 4 comes around. Suggs is not just a consolation prize, however, as everything about his resume suggests he’ll be an instant starter.

Suggs might be a little taller than Lowry at 6-5, but the playing styles are eerily similar. In addition to their surprising athletic ability, Suggs can get to the rim with ease, run an up-tempo offense to perfection with his passing skills, and feel comfortable checking the opponent’s best guard.

Jalen Suggs could be a star for the Toronto Raptors.

Suggs will need to improve his consistency from beyond the arc, but that is something that can be taught over time. What can’t be taught is the instinctual way he plays the game, which could make the NBA learning curve less steep.

Scottie Barnes is an intriguing prospect, I get it. Suggs should still be the pick at No. 4, as he just fits what this roster needs right now like a glove. If the original Lowry is thinking about leaving, why not replace him with an oversized replica?
