Shocker, I know. Carter’s tenure in Toronto makes him one of the greatest players in franchise history to this day, as his ability to attack the rim, shoot from deep, and put up ridiculous highlight-reel plays every single night remains legendary.

As we all know, Carter briefly fell out of love with Toronto, and his Raptors career was ended when the rival Nets acquired him.

While the Raptors acquired Alonzo Mourning (who played as many minutes for the Raptors as you or I have), Eric Williams, the aforementioned Aaron Williams, and two first-round picks, New Jersey added a new offensive centerpiece that would take his high-flying act to the States with success both on the stat sheet and in the win column.

Vince Carter is a Toronto Raptors and New Jersey Nets legend.

Carter averaged 23.4 points per game on 44.6% shooting during his 6.5 years with the Raptors. With the Nets, his stats were…almost identical. he averaged 23.6 points per game on 44.7% shooting during his 4.5 seasons with New Jersey.

Across the history of the NBA, it’s rare for a player to be equally dominant with two different franchises, let alone two in-division rivals. Carter remains one of the greatest players in both Raptors and Nets history, and he will likely be enshrined in Springfield when his time comes.
