1. Domantas Sabonis, Indiana Pacers

While Sabonis and Myles Turner might be on the trade market due to the fact that Indiana has completely bottomed out this season, that doesn’t change the fact that he is one of the best offensive big men in the game today. Siakam has more votes than Sabonis, but his numbers are very similar.

While Siakam has the scoring advantage, Sabonis is outpacing him in rebounds per game and assists per game. While using wins as a statistic is an archaic way of evaluating players because it takes some context out of the matter, it is important to look at the two situations Sabonis and Siakam are in.

Toronto Raptors: Is Pascal Siakam better than Domantas Sabonis?

Sabonis is the primary offensive option in Indiana, with everything running through him. Siakam has to split touches and shots with names like VanVleet, OG Anunoby, Scottie Barnes, and Gary Trent Jr. He is still keeping pace with Sabonis while defending better.

Siakam is clearly outpacing Sabonis in fan votes, but if coaches are picking the reserved, the allure of Sabonis’ box score stats might help him win out over a more deserving candidate in Siakam. The Pacers star is having a fantastic season, but Siakam is slightly clear of him.
