2022 NBA Mock Draft 3.0: Can the Toronto Raptors make a move?
By Mike Luciano
Sharpe is a complete wild-card. While his smooth offensive game and blistering verticality could help him challenge Ivey’s rank as the top shooting guard in this class, would it be worth it to burn a first-round pick on a player who hasn’t played a single game of basketball this year?
San Antonio might be inclined to do so, especially with Lonnie Walker potentially leaving. Drafting Josh Primo shows that this is a patient organization. The Spurs have some intriguing young players, but drafting Sharpe could help San Antonio get back to the high standard this franchise had for themselves over the years.
NBA Mock Draft: Kentucky has another strong guard in Shaedon Sharpe.
In a class that lacks amazing point guard talent, Washington is starting to emerge as the best of the bunch. As good as Devonte’ Graham is, New Orleans might need someone with a higher ceiling if they want to convince Zion Williamson that they are building something special.
Washington is a blur on the court, and with some of the best passing instincts in this class, he’ll provide Williamson and Brandon Ingram with tons of makeable shot attempts. A nifty scorer and shooter in his own right, Washington could eventually become a tertiary star if the Pelicans handle his development well.
Griffin has suffered some serious injuries, and the combination of his health and questionable production at Duke could mean that some will scoff at Portland for drafting him. However, Griffin has averaged 12.3 points per game in ACC play on some ridiculously efficient shooting percentages.
The son of Raptors assistant Adrian Griffin, AJ plays the game with a very cerebral aspect that should help him emerge as a small-ball power forward or oversized wing as a rookie. This Trail Blazers team needs more support around Damian Lillard, and Griffin would be a great start.
With Kemba Walker’s decline continuing to speed up, the Knicks need to find a long-term answer at that position. A quality rebounder and passer for the position in a robust 6-6 frame, Daniels does so many things well that he could end up being the best of the G League Ignite prospects
Daniels is a poor 3-point shooter at this point, but New York could look past that to add a super versatile defender for Tom Thibodeau’s crunching style. Daniels’ offensive development will be key, but he could give the Knicks backcourt stability for a decade if he hits.
