2. SG Kevin Huerter, Atlanta Hawks

While Huerter has a long extension set to kick in, the Hawks might not keep him around for the entirety of that contract. Given the Cam Reddish trade and the fact that teams like the Pelicans have been calling Atlanta about adding Huerter, it appears as though he can be had for the right price.

Huerter is nailing 37% of his 3-pointers while averaging 11.5 points per game. The Raptors’ bench scoring is right at the bottom of the league, and putting Huerter in the backcourt gives them one more perimeter weapon that can pick up the slack when Fred VanVleet and Gary Trent Jr. are taking a rest.

Toronto Raptors rumors: Kevin Hurter would be a quality bench shooter.

Huerter, still just 23, has an extension kicking in after this season. Toronto would need to be sold on his long-term potential if they decide to acquire him, but there’s reason to expect that he’ll do a solid job at filling the Sixth Man sniper role that is currently being left vacant.

Huerter is 6-6 with a 6-8 wingspan, so he’d be another long-limbed wing that Nick Nurse could deploy. With Huerter potentially sharing the floor with so many quality scorers, he might get more open shots than he did as a member of the Trae Young isolation show in Atlanta.
