Champagnie is the twin brother of Raptors two-way forward Justin Champagnie. While Justin is a hard-nosed rebounder that needs work on his shooting to reach his full potential, Julian is a bit more refined on the offensive end and ready to do some damage as a shooter in the pros.

While a few clunkers against UConn and Villanova dragged his shooting percentages down to less eye-popping figures, Champagnie is still averaging 19.2 points and 6.6 rebounds per game on 42/35/78 shooting splits. This shows that the 6-8 wing could have minimal trouble piling up the points in the pros.

The Toronto Raptors need shooting from players like Julian Champagnie.

Champagnie might lack amazing athletic ability and an explosive first step, but he should profile as a player that can get buckets better than a good chunk of players that might go ahead of him. If he’s available in the early 30s, Toronto should pair him with his brother.

Not only is Justin proving to have been worthy of a draft selection, but he could eventually see his two-way deal converted into a standard NBA contract. If Julian arrives in Toronto with that same mindset, he might just end up becoming one of the biggest steals of the draft.
