Raptors odds: 3 best futures bets to grab early in 2022-23 season
By Mike Luciano
The Toronto Raptors have to be relatively irritated with their start to the 2022-23 season. After taking down the new-look Cleveland Cavaliers in the home opener, Toronto narrowly fell in defeat against the mighty Brooklyn Nets despite a Pascal Siakam masterclass and dropped a road game against the Miami Heat.
While there were some positives to fall back on after a relatively quiet offseason, projecting just how far this team can go remains a risky exercise. Are they going to build upon their 48 wins last season, or will they stagnate and watch many of their competitors in the division leap over them?
Starting off the season at 1-2 and losing Scottie Barnes to an ankle sprain is undoubtedly not what fans had in mind when the first ball was tipped, but these Raptors have pulled off three straight nailbiters finished against teams that everyone expects to be in the postseason.
Raptors fans and general sharps around the NBA ecosystem should take a look at these three bets and try to get in on some interesting action. If everything keeps trending upward for the Raptors, these three wagers could become a reality.

Toronto Raptors odds: 3 best futures bets
3. Atlantic Division winners +1000
The Raptors currently have the fourth-best odds in the division. The 76ers are still regarded as an elite team, the Celtics appear to have gotten along just fine after the whole Ime Udoka scandal, and the Nets are always a threat due to the presence of Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving.
While it may seem like the gulf between Toronto and those three teams is quite cavernous, it would behoove betters to know that the Raptors won just three fewer games than Boston and Philadelphia last year while beating out Brooklyn. With the roster stronger this season, they could be a dark horse who takes the Atlantic.
Can the Toronto Raptors win the Atlantic Division?
The Raptors will need to replicate their success against their division foes in 2022-23. They beat up on the Knicks, took down the Nets twice, and managed to give Philadelphia everything they could handle in the regular season and postseason. A title is within reach.
Toronto’s roster is flawed, make no mistake. However, even last year’s less impressive group managed to consistently upset teams ranked above them in the conference. Given Boston’s coaching situation, Philly’s lack of depth, Brooklyn’s poor defense, and New York’s lack of great shooting, these teams are all vulnerable.
