Raptors Game Tonight: Raptors vs 76ers Odds, Starting Lineup, Injury Report, Predictions, TV Channel for Oct. 28
By Mike Luciano
The Toronto Raptors have been undaunted by a very difficult start to the season, as they are 3-2, with both of their losses coming by just a few points. Pascal Siakam and company have been the main reasons for Toronto’s hot start, but the latest Raptors odds aren’t overly optimistic about their chances to replicate that tonight.
Doc Rivers and the Philadelphia 76ers have started the season off at 1-4, joining a host of other championship contenders who stumbled out of the gate. Between Glenn Rivers ripping the Toronto offense after giving up 119 points and the team’s horrid defense, Wednesday night did not go well.
The 76ers still have one of the game’s most effective trio of stars in Joel Embiid, James Harden, and Tyrese Maxey. Even after keeping Harden in check on Wednesday, that combo alone is going to be a huge problem for Toronto as they try to ensure a 4-2 start to the season.
Can the Raptors pick up a third consecutive victory, including their second against Embiid and their division rivals? Will Nick Nurse and the rest of the team suffer a home loss before their tussle with Trae Young and the Hawks?
Philadelphia 76ers vs. Toronto Raptors Odds, Spread, Over/Under
The latest odds from FanDuel Sportsbook have Philadelphia as -1 favorites against the spread, with this squad -110 (bet $110 to win $100) to cover. Philly is -108 on the moneyline, while Toronto checks in at -108 (bet $108 to win $100).
The over-under is 213, with the over and the under both at -110.
Raptors Injury Report
Otto Porter Jr. had been listed as doubtful, indicating he is closer to returning from his hamstring injury. Unfortunately, he has been ruled out due to personal reasons.
Toronto Raptors vs. Philadelphia 76ers Prediction
Toronto showed the issues with Philly’s defensive alignments, as poor transition and interior defense was the reason for the loss on Wednesday. Those issues are unlikely to correct themselves during one day of practice, giving Siakam another runway for greatness.
While the 76ers’ offense often doesn’t operate at top efficiency, it’ll be hard to slow down all of their stars every night. Barring Embiid going absolutely crazy, the Raptors might be able to keep pace with Philly and prolong their tailspin.
Raptors 112, 76ers 106
