Death, taxes, and Gordon’s name being mentioned in trade rumors. With the Rockets once again in contention for the No. 1 pick, yet having landed two solid young guards in Kevin Porter Jr. and Jalen Green, Gordon could finally be on his way out of town and onto a contending team.

Gordon is averaging 13.3 points per game while making over 40% of his triples, showing that his reduced scoring has more to do with Green taking over and less with a regression in his play. He will help a contending team at some point later in the year.

Eric Gordon would give the Toronto Raptors shooting.

Assuming that Achiuwa and Siakam return to full health soon and O.G. Anunoby keeps performing like someone who could win Defensive Player of the Year, the Raptors could be willing to absorb a poor defender in Gordon if it means their offense can get the scoring juice they need.

Fred VanVleet can stroke it from deep, and Scottie Barnes is improved offensively, but it’s clear that Toronto is a limited team from deep when those two aren’t able to be consistently effective. Adding Gordon, who is as battle-tested as they come, will help immensely.
