The Toronto Raptors are one of many teams that will be looking forward to the 2023 NBA Draft, as they will have a premium pick they can use to add a young player who will be a part of the furniture with their respective clubs for the next decade (if they hit on the pick).

The winner of this lottery is going to be doing cartwheels down Atlantic Avenue on draft night, as Victor Wembanyama is widely regarded as one of the best prospects in NBA history. Scoot Henderson going to whomever is ending up with the No. 2 overall choice is certainly not bad either.

The league is going to change forever by the end of this night, as Wembanyama will find out where he is headed while the rest of the league kicks themselves for not being lucky enough to land him. No matter what your rooting interest, this should be a fun watch.

When is the 2023 NBA Draft Lottery?

The 2023 NBA Draft Lottery will take place on May 16 at 8 p.m. ET. The lottery will take place during the Conference Finals at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. Will teams like the Raptors move up in the order, or will the season standings grant favor to those who tanked hard?

2023 NBA Draft lottery: Who will pick No. 1?

The Houston Rockets, Detroit Pistons, and San Antonio Spurs are once again going to be picking very high, as they all have the best shot at landing Wembanyama. The Charlotte Hornets are just behind them at No. 4 overall before a sizeable gap and the No. 5 Orlando Magic.

2023 NBA Draft: Where are the Toronto Raptors picking?

Toronto is currently in possession of the No. 12 overall pick just one season after winning 48 games and ending up with the No. 20 pick (which was traded away before the draft). The Raptors are in prime position to select a player who will contribute for years to come.

Toronto and the rest of the teams in the play-in mix might not be bad enough to get Wembanyama, barring some insane luck, but they will still be able to move up the rankings ever so slightly.
