Raptors draft: 1 prospect at every position to target in lottery
By Mike Luciano
Small Forward: Brice Sensabaugh, Ohio State
The Raptors could marry their warring philosophies with the Sensabuagh selection, as they could add a solid shooter who can also make plays on the defensive end. Sensabaugh seems like a player who could end up performing like OG Anunoby if he maximizes his potential.
Sensabuagh might not be a lottery pick to some, but Ohio State may have hurt his stock due to the fact he only played around 24 minutes per game. With a more expansive role in Toronto, the shooting and defensive skills he showed off in college could be put on display for a team that typically prizes players like him.
Will the Toronto Raptors get Brice Sensabaugh or Nick Smith?
Shooting Guard: Nick Smith, Arkansas
Smith is a bit of a gamble, as he is coming off a season that was completely marred by injuries. When he was healthy, he wasn’t nearly as dominant as some expected. Still, there is a reason that Smith was regarded as a top-five lock before this season, and the Raptors could help realize his potential.
Smith is a crafty finisher and solid shooter that could be the electric bucket-getter this bench needs. If Gary Trent Jr. is going to bolt in free agency, the path for an elevated role under a coach in Darko Rajakovic that helped develop Ja Morant and Desmond Bane could be what he needs as a rookie.
