Markquis Nowell: Sign a proper NBA contract

Nowell thinks that he is destined for greatness in the NBA, as he boldly proclaimed that he would be the best player in franchise history. A journey of 1,000 miles always begins with one step, and that step is showing Toronto that he is worthy of a full NBA contract.

With Dennis Schroder coming to town, Malachi Flynn still percolating around the end of the bench, and Jeff Dowtin playing well enough to earn another deal with Toronto, Nowell has plenty of competition. Will that be enough to overwhelm the former Kansas State star, or will they inspire him to rise above?

Can Markquis Nowell make the Toronto Raptors?

While he isn’t a great finisher, Nowell’s passing skills are already well above average for the NBA. When paired with a respectable 3-point shot, Nowell might be able to facilitate and shoot well enough to stick around despite his physical limitations.

Doubt someone who almost singlehandedly willed the Wildcats deep into the tournament while putting up numbers that supersede many first-round picks at your own peril. Nowell could become a gigantic (no pun intended) fan favorite the second he steps on a court.
