Immanuel Quickley, ladies and gentlemen.
The overall IQ experience has been quite the head-scratcher and a source of stress throughout much of the 2025-26 season. However, in Week 14 of NBA action (between Jan. 19 to 25), Immanuel Quickley elevated his game to another level, delivering arguably his strongest stretch of Raptors basketball to date.
During that span, Quickley helped the Raptors achieve a perfect 4-0 record, dominating their opponents on a tough West Coast trip. They took down the Golden State Warriors (an Immanuel Quickley masterclass), Sacramento Kings, Portland Trail Blazers, and perhaps heir best win of the 2025-26 campaign — the reigning champions, the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Quickley delivered game-changing numbers across the board during this stellar run. He posted a team-high 25.3 points on 61.1% field goal shooting, an impressive 61.5% from three, and a near flawless 95.0% from the free throw line. Additionally, he contributed 6.8 rebounds, 6.8 assists, and 2.0 steals in 33.9 minutes of action over those four games.
And so, it’s no surprise that Immanuel Quickley was named the NBA's Eastern Conference Player of the Week after such a dominant run. Taking the award for the West would be superstar Los Angeles Lakers guard Luka Doncic, who posted equally impressive numbers during that period: 34.3 points, 10.7 rebounds, and 9.7 assists.
Immanuel Quickley's week of excellence rewarded with NBA accolade
Regarding the Player of the Week award, it's been a pretty exciting few weeks for Raptors fans. Not too long ago, in Week 12 of NBA action, Scottie Barnes, the Raptors' defensive standout, earned the honor.
Seeing IQ make such a clear and undeniable improvement in his efforts and overall on-court impact has been nothing short of remarkable. Rumors about Quickley's potential involvement in trade talks have been circulating like crazy lately. And if it was not that, it’s the constant worry about his contract hanging over the Raptors’ future outlook. For a tough stretch, it seemed as if IQ was stuck in a rut he couldn't escape.
As a result, I recently compared his turbulent play to what Raptors fans saw out of Fred VanVleet during the final stages of his time in Toronto. While I still believe IQ's productivity can be streaky and his decision-making occasionally questionable, there's no denying this phenomenal stretch. We should also acknowledge the smart decision to pair standout reserve guard Jamal Shead with IQ in the starting lineup during that stretch. It allowed Quickley's true game to shine alongside another ball handler.
The hope now is that Quickley can sustain this upward trajectory as NBA competition tightens closer to playoff season.
