Say Hello to: Monta Ellis, Myles Turner, Chase Budinger, Jordan Hill
Farewell: Roy Hibbert, C.J. Watson. Luis Scola
’14-’15 record: 38-44
In contrast to Detroit’s Jeff Van Gundy, Larry Bird has a clear picture of how he wants his team to play – fast…no, faster than that. He dumped the wildly inconsistent, lumbering Roy Hibbert, and lured speedy gunner Monta Ellis to Indianapolis. The return of a healthy Paul George is a huge relief, though I’m not sure I see him as a power forward, as Larry does.
Their lineup won’t strike fear in opposition coaches, but they have enough rotation-grade players to make every game a tussle. A playoff berth is not out of the question should this squad gel.
