Holiday gifts for every Toronto Raptor, including Danny Green’s time machine
Fred VanVleet – A new bookie
Mr. Bet on yourself cashed in big-time this offseason when he inked his two-year $18 million contracts. The former undrafted rookie out of Wichita State exceeded everyone’s expectations last season and (rightfully) got paid because of it.
I just hope he didn’t double-down. Please, Fred, tell me you didn’t bet it all again did you?
Heaven forbid he took an advance. FVV’s bookie would be coming for his knee-caps faster than you can say, Tonya Harding.
To be safe let’s give Fred a new guy with a zero balance on the books. I’m confident with a fresh slate Fred will still be able to earn his cash back.
Norman Powell – A new team
You know that gift that you give to someone that is secretly for yourself?
- “Look two concert tickets for both of us!”
- “Here’s something for the house we both live in!”
- “Here hunny it’s a fully inclusive gym membership”
We’ve all done it. Okay maybe just some of us have done it. Some of you are probably good people.
I can dress Norman Powell’s new team as a gift to him. He does need more playing time. A change of scenery could help him out. But truthfully, this is a gift for myself. I’m done waiting for the Powell breakout season. I’m done watching missed shots and silly turnovers.
So Norman, please take the gift of a new team both for you and for me.
