Chris Boucher

Our man Slim Duck only played in one game this week, and yes it was the final game of the season against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

However, his sole performance this week has earned him a place in the good books, with a career-night against the T’Wolves in the Target Center.

Boucher, coming off a season where he won the G-League’s MVP and Defensive Player of the Year awards, left his best performance with the first team until the final game.

In 24 minutes of playing time, Boucher 15 points, 13 rebounds, two assists, and two blocks. Yeesh. It was in the second quarter where the Boucher really made his mark, though. The Raptors put up 43 points and held Minnesota to just 19 in the quarter, while Boucher himself had 11 points on a perfect 5-5.

Boucher provided some fun moments in the 24 minutes he spent on the court, he showed glimpses as a capable cutter, as shown in the clip below, as well as someone who can stretch the floor as well as attack the rim.

Even though he’s a 32-percent shooter from three in the NBA and the G-League, Boucher shows no hesitation when it comes to jacking up threes. It usually takes him less than 10 seconds to attempt a three after checking into the game. You can’t knock the guy’s confidence, you can only admire it.

He won’t feature much in the playoffs, but we may well see just a little bit more of Chris Boucher next season.

Before we move on, a fun exercise is looking at Chris Boucher’s per 36-minute stats.
