Toronto Raptors: Stock Take, plus Terence Davis is for real
The NBA season is in full swing now and the Toronto Raptors are rolling. Whose stock rose this week and who fell?
If you know much about the Toronto Raptors, and for the sake of you reading this I hope you do, then you will know that the front office has a penchant for finding diamonds in the rough. This week was a timely reminder that, hey, they’re still pretty good at it.
The Raptors came into the week still without Kyle Lowry and Serge Ibaka, but OG Anunoby would return to the side after a one-game absence caused by a flailing claw to the eye from Kawhi Leonard.
There only three games on the slate this week, but as the Raptors usually do, they came out swinging and finished with a 2-1 record with a loss against the Luka Doncic-led Dallas Mavericks coming before two strong victories against the Charlotte Hornets and the Orlando Magic.
With a 10-4 record to show for their efforts so far, even without their most impactful starter and their energetic backup center, the Raptors are playing like contenders once more. Once they have Ibaka and Lowry back in the lineup then the Raptors can really put forth their true intentions for the season.
As it stands, they can technically get better once Lowry leads the line and Ibaka steps back into the sixth man role, but the next men up have consistently been performing this season, and two of them make their debuts in the column. I think. As per the title, we know Terence Davis is in, but who else?
It’s rarely a perfect week, and there is someone, or more accurately, some people who come under fire in the stock down portion of this column. So, let’s get the bad juju out of the way.
