5. Terence Davis

Opponent: Cleveland Cavaliers

Stat line: 19 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist

The rookie has been a big surprise for this Raptors team as he has been able to produce almost immediately after going undrafted in 2019. Clearly, Masai Ujiri and the Toronto Raptors saw something special in this kid and he continued to show that special ability against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

After Nick Nurse decided to sub in Terence Davis for Patrick McCaw with eight minutes still left in the first quarter, Davis saw it as an opportunity to get off to a strong start and earn more minutes in this one. He effectively went 2-5 and finished with five points, three rebounds, and an assist to end the first.

However, because he played eight minutes in the first quarter, he was limited to one minute in the second and went scoreless in the quarter as the Raptors went into half time with a 16 point lead.

The third quarter was no different for Davis as he only played 4 minutes and went scoreless again on no field goal attempts. The game, however, was clearly over as the Raptors were up by 17 points heading into the fourth.

Playing a lengthy 10 minutes in the final quarter, and with the game completely out of reach, Davis took the opportunity to further showcase his talents as he scored 14 points on 5-of-6 from the field as the Raptors won comfortably by 20 points.

The minutes won’t always be there for Davis as he is still a rookie learning as he goes along, but whenever he has been asked to play big minutes he has not let down Nick Nurse and the Toronto Raptors. The future remains bright for this youngster as he continues to develop.
