4. Serge Ibaka

Opponent: Brooklyn Nets

Stat line: 21 points, 12 rebounds, 1 block

This matchup was always going to be tough for Serge Ibaka. Although the Brooklyn Nets were missing the services of Kyrie Irving, they did have a strong two-headed monster manning the paint in Jarrett Allen and DeAndre Jordan. Ibaka, however, didn’t back down and took the fight right to the big men.

Although his shot wasn’t falling, Ibaka did show resilience in the first quarter as he was able to finish the quarter with six points on 2-of-6 shooting, adding three rebounds and a block as the Raptors were down early by nine points heading to the second.

Down nine, the Raptors were looking to trim the lead heading into halftime and did just that backed by Ibaka. He finished the second quarter with a team-high seven points and four rebounds shooting 3-of-5 from the field as the Raptors were able to cut the lead to four points heading into the third.

The Raptors seemed to be picking up steam as the game went along as Ibaka was able to tally another six points and two rebounds on 2-of-3 shooting as the Raptors successfully took over the game and were leading by three heading into the fourth.

With seemingly all of the momentum now with Toronto, the team as a whole took over in the fourth and did not need Ibaka to put on a big quarter. He finished with two points and three rebounds on 1-1 shooting as the Raptors on the top of a big fourth-quarter beat the Nets by 19.
