Toronto Raptors: Four wishes ahead of All-Star Weekend 2020
By Jordan Skuse
Terence Davis = Rising Stars Game + Dunk Contest
I love Terence Davis. IfĀ you happen to follow me on Twitter which, based on the numbers, I highly doubt you do ā 31 followers and counting ā my affection for TDII will come as no surprise. I firmly believe he is going to be something special in this league, but it might take a few years.
We fans, oftentimes, forget about everything that goes into an NBA orientation; for young players, adjusting to NBA life is about far more than honing oneās on-court craft:
Davis may be scared to bring junk food around Serge, but the rookieās on-court demeanour so far this season has been entirely void of fear; TDII is not your typical rookie, meaning, heās perfect for the Rising Stars game.
Iām not finished. Thereās more. Hell, if I could Iād pitch Davis in the All-Sra Game, but Iām aware how offensive that would be to most people, so letās not go there.
But wouldnāt Davis ā listed at six-foot-four ā be a worthwhile addition to the dunk contest? The odds of him winning are slim, sure, but heās shown enough in the hops and flare departments through the first half of the season to warrant reasonable consideration for the leagueās annual rim-rocking circus, no? Who knowsā¦maybe big brother, Serge, helps Davis ācookā up a never-before-seen dunk?
All kidding aside, the 22-year-oldās play and growth through the first half have been impressive to watch; to this point, Davis has rarely looked out of place or overwhelmed by any situation. And letās not forget that heās playing for the defending champs! Not exactly an easy team to carve out a role with as an undrafted talent. First Fred, now Terence. Torontoās scouting department deserves a raise.
Now if you thought this wish was āout thereā just wait till you see what I cooked up for #3ā¦
