Serge Ibaka’s How Hungry Are You? – All-Star Edition

I’ve long believed the one single thing the NBA All-Star Game has missed is a sideline chef. Obviously, I’m exaggerating, although, it’s for all the right reasons.

*Enter Serge Ibaka* – aka Mafuzzy Chef.

If you’ve never seen Ibaka’s YouTube channel, I can’t recommend it enough. His dietary preferences are, well, different. Mind you, he seems to really love cooking. Anything.

Hard to debate that Ibaka’s personality isn’t perfectly suited for the NBA’s midseason exhibition, the happy-go-lucky Congolese-Spanish talent would be a hoot to have mic’d up during All-Star Weekend, which is why he should be whipping up dishes both Saturday and Sunday night.

I don’t know if it’s an omelette station type of set up, or maybe Ibaka just spends the entire time carving up an assortment of meat products and delivering sample dishes to players before, during and after events – dunking is hard…try pulling off a 360 windmill after chowing down a plate full of eyeballs. How about a piece of cow brain before your sudden death round in the three-point comp? How Hungry Are You?

Now, if league rules mandate that Ibaka compete in an event, no sweat. I have an idea — how about he serves as “Official Rim Protector” for the passing/dribbling event? At some point in that, don’t participants have to make a driving layup? In the past, that layup was a formality (like when extra points in football were kicked from the 2-yard line). But with Ibaka patrolling the paint, it could make for some compelling theatre.
