Five biggest games left on the Toronto Raptors’ schedule
4. vs Atlanta Hawks – Friday, April 10
This is an obvious choice if we’re being honest. Vince Carter is one of the greatest players to ever don a Raptors jersey, and in the midst of his last season, he returns to face the Toronto Raptors for the final time at the Scotiabank Arena on April 10.
Expect tears, maybe a ceremony, maybe a guard of honor. Really, who knows what to expect. The Raptors have been pretty kind with the video tributes so far this season, with everyone from Kawhi Leonard to Jakob Poltl receiving the honor this year. Even members of the Canadian national team have got the recognition, which is a pretty nice touch.
That’s why this night could prove to be the one that tops it all – at least until Kyle Lowry or DeMar DeRozan retire from the league, especially the former, who will go down as the greatest player in Toronto Raptors history.
Carter is in his 22nd NBA season, just surpassed his 43rd birthday, and he’ll go down as one of the greats. His career has spanned across four decades, starting in 1999 and eventually ending later this year.
The Raptors are one of the best in the business when it comes to tribute videos and marketing, but have rarely had the chance to honour someone like Carter in their short history.
This will be the first of its kind for Toronto, so who knows what they have up their sleeve. Whatever it is, it’ll be something to witness.
