3. vs Boston Celtics – Friday, March 20

Now, this is where things really start to heat up. The Boston Celtics have proved to be a worthy adversary for the Toronto Raptors over the past few years, and vice versa. The two divisional rivals routinely have produced some barnstorming affairs and the Celtics handed the Raptors their first divisional loss at home for the first time in a number of years on Christmas Day.

That stings. Their first-ever Christmas Day game ended in disaster.

Since then, the Raptors got their revenge with a comfortable win three days later. This game isn’t about revenge, though. It’s about playoff seeding. The Raptors and the Celtics are two of the elite teams in the NBA and in the Eastern Conference. Both have over 30 wins already, both are in the top-10 in net rating and both have talented coaches and rosters.

The similarities are frequent, but there’s certainly no love lost, even if there is a massive amount of respect between the two teams.

That’s what makes this game so exciting. It’s the final meeting between the two teams, and while they look like they’ll avoid each other in the first round of the playoffs, this game could be a huge step towards determining the race for the second seed.

Hopefully, the Raptors take the cake in this one.
