Eastern Conference Semi-Finals

With the Celtics owning homecourt advantage, the Raptors would be in a tough spot during the first two games of the series. Falling into a 0-2 hole would be key.

For a long time in Game 1, it looked like the Raptors were doomed to another loss in a series opener and considering they were down by as much as 18 in the third quarter, you could have written them off. However, a Pascal Siakam-inspired comeback led the Raptors to a 116-110 victory in Game 1 in miraculous fashion. The Raptors were horrid in the first half but took control in the second half, but they couldn’t rely on huge comebacks in every game.

In Game 2, Pascal Siakam asserted his dominance again and led the Raptors to a 124-109 victory, scoring 31 points in the process. Meanwhile, Chris Boucher made a storm and scored a career-high 27 points off the bench and the Raptors found themselves in a great position heading into two home games.

Things got even better in Game 3 as the Raptors took one step closer to a sweep, defeating the Celtics 118-111 at home, holding off a late charge from the C’s as Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum scored 28 points each. For the Raptors, it was Kyle Lowry leading the charge with a game-high 29 points. Now, the Raptors had the chance to cruise into the Eastern Conference Finals for the second successive year.

They would have to wait for at least a game longer to get there, though, with the Celtics cruising to victory in Game 4, winning 117-103. Luckily, it did only take one game longer. The Raptors took down the Celtics 112-109 in Game 5 to secure their place in the Eastern Conference Finals.

Who would they take on?

Who else but the Milwaukee Bucks. The Bucks had just defeated the Philadelphia 76ers 4-1 after dropping Game 1 of the series and Giannis Antetokounmpo – who wrapped up his second MVP award in two years – was in no mood to mess around. In the Western Conference, the Houston Rockets would take on the LA Clippers in the Conference Finals.

The Bucks wanted revenge for last season. Would they get it?
