Toronto Raptors Keep or Waive target No.3: Terence Davis

Davis burst onto the scene last season as an undrafted guard with the Raptors, and impressed right away. However, he was hit with a charge of domestic violence this past fall. The last anyone has heard about the case was back on December 23rd in a Sportsnet.com article citing that his lawyers are hopeful for a resolution.

Raptors faithful and management are as well. Davis started the season inconsistently, but he gives the Raptors similar numbers to last season in slightly less playing time. Last year he averaged 7.5 points in 16.8 minutes a game. This season it’s 7.1 points in 14.2 minutes a game. His three-point shooting is up as well at 39.7 percent.

Davis is instrumental to the Raptors’ offense when on the floor as he is a good ball-handler with an explosive first step who can attack the rim. When he drives, it draws defenders allowing him to pass out to open shooters for good shots. Davis is also a solid perimeter defender as well.

The NBA is looking into his legal case. Pending their investigation and resolving his legal troubles, the Raptors don’t need to act until then. While some of the allegations that Davis is being charged with are gruesome, his case is still a pending legal matter, and he remains a part of this Toronto rotation.

Verdict: Keep
