Ultimately, the Raptors should look elsewhere for Lowry replacements. In a vacuum, there is a lot to like about Ball, and going to a coach in Nurse that has a proven history of improving players on the offensive end could be what Ball needs to get back on the path to stardom, but the potential to bust is too great.

Ball has had issues with staying healthy, has never been a quality shooter, and could cause some logjams in the Toronto rotation given his style of play. Masai Ujiri, or whoever is in charge in Toronto, needs to spend their money more efficiently.

Lonzo Ball might be too financially risky for the Raptors.

The money that would be used to sign Ball might be better allocated on either a guard with a bit of a higher floor or on a handful of lesser players that can help the Raptors win by swarming teams with numbers off of the bench.

Ball will likely continue to have a fine NBA career elsewhere, but the Raptors need to look for some more prudent fiscal options, as investing that much money in someone who may never be a primary scoring option could haunt them for years to come in what has become the best division in the league.
