1. Makur Maker, C, Howard

Maker is a HUGE risk, as he is coming essentially straight out of high school considering how short his college career was. Maker is a gamble that could be worth taking considering that his athletic ability for someone his size is so impressive it will get him pro looks.

Maker played in just two games in college, one of which was a loss against a Division II school. How do you even evaluate that? Sure. he may have done alright against future pro players at the NBA combine, but can a few days of scrimmages convince the Raptors to actually part with a pick to take him.

The Toronto Raptors could develop Makur Maker

The idea of what Maker could be is so enticing that they need to at least consider taking him with one of their picks. Stick him down with their development system and watch the center with guard-like handles and shooting ability start to grow into a defined role.

Part of what has made it tough for cousin Thon to stick in the pros is the lack of certainty and direction given to him during his career. Is he a big forward that has mismatch potential, or a center that can handle the ball? Maker can get closer to finding the answer in the G League, which could get Toronto interested.
