1. Keyonte George, PG/SG, Baylor

George seems to be the prohibitive favorite among Raptors Twitter frequenters (based on some incredibly basic, unscientific surveys), and it is easy to see why. The dynamic George’s high-end potential is that of a consistent scorer with All-Star nods piling up.

At his best, George can take over a game, as he has proven to be a tremendous scorer in isolation situations, a creator of open looks for himself and others, and a leader on both ends that powers through trouble with a motor that never quits. These trails all sound conducive to success in Toronto.

Toronto Raptors draft: Keyonte George has star potential.

George didn’t make 40% of his shots in college, and he had the propensity to turn the ball over quite easily. If you are pessimistic about him, you will put those struggles on him. Fans of his will point to a general lack of support that force him to do everything on offense to keep the Bears in the game.

The Raptors not only need to find someone who can lead the second unit after years of poor play, but they must also figure out a potential long-term succession plan for Fred VanVleet. George can kill both of those birds as a lone proverbial stone, as the intoxicating highs he put on tape warrant a high pick.
