That, my friends, is how you inject a new sense of energy and momentum into this playoff series. Game 3 was undoubtedly a make-or-break showcase for the Toronto Raptors. Their first two games on enemy territory didn't quite go their way, and with their backs against the wall at an 0-2 deficit, this was a critical juncture.
The Raptors absolutely needed to fire on all cylinders to secure this win. And it’s funny I say "firing on all cylinders," because while the emphatic Raptors' Game 3 victory (126-104) featured a myriad of heroes (RJ Barrett and Scottie Barnes, take a bow), perhaps no other player on the night had more of a feel-good moment than sophomore sniper Jamison Battle — who shot the lights out.
After reports questioned Ja'Kobe Walter's availability ahead of Game 3, until he was later confirmed able to play, Battle was the key player who caught my attention as a potential factor. If he could earn an increased role, there was definitely a good chance he'd emerge as a secret weapon in that "next man up" opportunity. Even though Walter ultimately suited up, as it turned out, Battle still found a path to be a difference-maker in this game.
Battle's first half was marked by modest playing time and a quiet impact in turn. It wasn't until the fourth quarter that he became unglued in a explosive burst that helped the Raptors seal a decisive victory. It only took Battle a total of 8 minutes and 37 seconds of playing time to ignite his fire. He scored 14 points, shooting a perfect 5-for-5 from the field, including 4-for-4 from three.
Jamison Battle shines as the unsung hero of Raptors' Game 3 victory

It definitely harks back to October 31 during the regular season when Battle had a breakout performance against the Cavs. He scored 20 points off the bench on a perfect 7-for-7 shooting night, which included 6-for-6 from three. Even though this version of Cleveland that the Raptors are facing now is very different, Jamison Battle was still considered as a possiblesurprise hero waiting to be revealed in this pivotal playoff series.
Coming out of this statement game for Jamison Battle, for starters, it definitely boosts his stock within the Raptors' pecking order and, of course, among the fanbase. But it also marks a turning point by adding a new element for Toronto to explore in this series moving forward.
So far in the series, we've seen the Raptors rely on others to step up, whether it’s because of Immanuel Quickley's absence or because Toronto’s stars haven't exactly delivered especially dominant performances, particularly Brandon Ingram. Whether calling on guys like Jamal Shead, Ja'Kobe Walter, Sandro Mamukelashvili, or AJ Lawson, there’s a real need for the Raptors to find an unsung hero who can spark the team amid their balanced attack to secure a victory.
And this Game 3 showcase proved more than ever that a winning model depends on everyone doing their part. In a way, it has been gradually building up to this moment. Now that Toronto secured their first 2026 playoff win and setting a new tone in the series, the Raps must be very glad that Jamison Battle was there, ready to answer the call when they needed that extra nudge.
